Hellebore at Amazing Floral
Posted by Becky Lindstedt on
This beautiful flower is the Hellebore. Commonly known as hellebores, it is a member of the ranunculus family. Originating in Europe and Asia, the greatest concentration occurs in the Balkans. The sepals, which many view as petals, do not fall as petals would, but remain on the plant for a long time. Every part of the plant is toxic and can bother sensitive skin. It is commonly called the Christmas Rose, due to an old legend that it sprouted in the snow from the tears of a young girl who had no gift to give the Christ child in Bethlehem. Amazing Floral is displaying them in a Cottage Collection Lula Vase.
