It's that time of year when a florist's hands, which normally endure all kinds of abuse, suffer more with the arrival of Christmas greens. Cutting thick evergreen stems and stripping needles so they aren't in the floral foam (where they will act like a wick and pull the water out of the container) can leave hands very sticky.
